These rules apply to professional reviews and workshops sold by File Lighthouse. They do not cover retail goods, subscriptions, or software licences, because we do not offer those.
Eligibility
Refunds are available when we have not started the named work, when we cancel, or when a written pack is not delivered for reasons on our side. They are not available because you disagree with a finding.
Timeframe to ask
Write to hello@filelighthouse.click within 14 days of the event you rely on (cancellation, missed workshop day, or non-delivery). Include the quote reference.
Full refund
- You cancel in writing before we hold the first interview or workshop hour, and before we receive sample files
- We cannot staff the dates we confirmed and you do not accept a replacement date
- A workshop is cancelled by us
In those cases the deposit and any other fees paid for that engagement are returned in full.
Partial refund
If work has started — interviews held, files reviewed, or a workshop hour delivered — we invoice time already spent at the rates implied by the quote and refund the remainder of sums paid. Time is measured in half-days.
Non-refundable items
Approved third-party travel and room costs already incurred. Bank transfer charges levied by your bank.
Process and timing
We confirm the request in writing within five working days and pay the refund within 15 working days after that confirmation. Money returns by the same method as the original payment where the bank allows it; otherwise by bank transfer to an account in the name on the invoice.
Cancellation and rescheduling
You may reschedule a workshop once, with at least seven days’ notice, at no extra facilitation fee. A second move, or less than seven days’ notice, is treated as a cancellation of that day. The glossary is only included if the day runs.
Deposits
The 40% audit deposit holds the desk for the agreed window. If you withdraw after we have opened files or held interviews, the deposit is applied to time spent first; only the unused portion is refundable.
No-shows
If nobody from your side joins a confirmed workshop day or briefing and you have not cancelled, that day is charged in full.
Work already started and materials
Interview notes and draft packs prepared before a stop remain our records. You do not receive a finished pack if the engagement ends early unless we agree a handover fee. We do not purchase physical materials for these reviews; there is nothing to restock.
