First-week return is a favourite slide because it is easy to draw. For an e-wallet it is a poor slide unless the cohort is defined on completed load, not on account opening and not on a success event that fired too early.
In one Kota Kinabalu review, people who opened the app to check a pending top-up were counted as returning customers. They were not returning. They were anxious. The contact-centre volume told the same story the chart refused to tell.
A cleaner definition: the person completed a load that matched a settlement record, then completed a second distinct action (a transfer, a merchant payment, or another load) inside seven calendar days. Checking a balance screen is not that second action.
If your finance file cannot support that definition, say so on the slide. A labelled gap is more useful than a cheerful curve.
